It's the SegWAY to Go

Josh Josh he's our man, if he can't do it no one can. This was a tour guide. Our favorite. He didn't use hand signals or talk too much.

Sorry for the bad angle. I was stealthily(I'm not convinced that is a word, but spell check said it was) taking a picture while Josh was giving us life and death important instructions. In the side alley. In downtown DC. Don't make a false move!

SMASH. Oh SMASH, how I loved thee. You were but mine for only a little while, but the time we had together was good. Sweet memories.
SMASH is the name of my first segway. Then I had to give it up to Tone Bones. I got FDR next. Really it's fine. I'd much rather ride a segway named after a guy in a wheel chair. Whatever.

This is just a block or two away from the segway office, store, shop, place. Mom is already brave enough to snap and drive.

Dad chattin' it up with Josh. The usual. Where ya from? How long have you been here? How long have you been a segway tour guide?

I love this picture of Tony. He was making that thing go super fast. Zoom Zoom.

Yup, that's right. I'm driving down the street on my segway taking pictures.

The crew in front of the Capitol.

Here is me trying to be artsy and make a postcard.

Mom. She's fairly fearless. She used to be a gymnast incase you didn't know. Like the real deal with Jr. Olypic competitions and every thing. She was the first in our group to practice. loved every minute.

You're witnessing Dad's favorite activity. He just loves it when mom takes his picture to document he existed. Right now he's in the gardens outside of the Smithsonian castle.

Not my best photo of the night, but we wrapped up our tour with the White House.
I've been to DC 4 times now and the segway tour was hands down the most fun!

Segway

Here is mom learning to use the segway. That's us, in a dark seedy ally downtown DC. Sorry for the background noise, you might as well just turn the volume off. The segway tour was THE BEST. If you're ever in a city that offers one, take it! I'll show more pictures later.

So, I'm learning to like this Mac we have upstairs. Only had the thing 20 months. Bout time I started to learn a few things about it.

Me in DC

Last week I was in Washington DC. Tony was there for a conference and mom and dad came along to see the sites with me.

Me on the segway at the Washington Monument.
Again, me on the segway at the Washington Monument.

Me & WaMo (that's park ranger talk for Washington Monument.)
again.
again.

Me at Arlington Cemetery.

Me by Kennedy's eternal flame.

Me at the Nats game.

Me at the Capital in the rotunda.

Me at the Library of Congress.

Me at the National Cathedral.

Me outside of the ice house at Mount Vernon.

That's me in and around DC. Too bad no one else would take my picture.

Truth is, half of these I was just checking my hair or lip gloss. I don't carry a mirror and that camera gets the job done. I'm also showing off that I can take a picture of myself while on the segway. I'm cool like that.

Eating Out

So for several months, or a year, we avoided restaurants. They just seem intimidating with a toddler. But we've been venturing out more often and it's gone fairly well.

We like to keep the ratio close to 4 adults per child. Seems safer that way.
Here is Carsyn hanging out with Sean and Lisa. They're going to watch her a few days while Tony and I are in Washington DC.

Happy little family.

The nice thing about Mexican restaurants is you get food immediately. That really helps when you're trying to keep your low blood sugar under control and your child entertained.
I think she's doing research for her next book. 101 things you can do with a tortilla. #23 Wear it as fashion accessory.

Carsyn's View

Carsyn was playing with the camera. I really try to avoid her playing with it, but some time I'm just plain weak. I didn't realize it was on. Turn off the music and listen to this sweet baby.

Carsyn and Wedges

Baby girl has a slight obsession with shoes. Slight meaning, it's out of control. She wants EVERYONE to wear shoes. She really likes to wear my shoes or Tony's if they're out. And she can't stand it if there are shoes in sight and my bare feet just walking around. Feet must wear shoes.

Play Ball

Carsyn and her Daddy playing a little ball in the house on Saturday.

It's been about forever since I've blogged. We've had a few technical difficulties in our house.
1. Sony laptop broke. I like using the laptop because it can blog from the couch. It's also Window's based and I can edit and upload photo's quickly.
2. I don't know how to use the Mac upstairs. Besides, it's hotter than blazes up there.
3. I lost the battery charger for the camera so I hardly have any photos to share.

White Trash

Carsyn loves our kitchen trash can. It's motion censored. Who wouldn't like that?
She's a happy little helper any time she can put something in the trash.

Like that white tag she found.

Still working on not actually needing to tough the trash can when she puts something in it. Kind of missing the whole point of the motion sensing feature.

Happy Birthday Catherine!

Catherine celebrated her birthday in style! Thanks for asking us to tag along and get some culture in our lives.
We went to the Modern Museum of Art. I'll admit, I was pretty intimidated at the thought. I don't get modern art. I don't really appreciate it. I don't really appreciate old art either. I just know if it looks pretty.

Good news! I didn't have to look at any art. Just watch so old people dance and eat fancy food.

Then to top it off, I got to eat two cookies and Blue Bell ice cream smushed in between. Now that's what I'm talking about for a celebration.

Here is me with my post sugar glow. Actually this is me after walking in the rain to get that sugar. I'm ok with it being a little fuzzy. Out of focus looked good on me that night.

Happy Birthday Catherine! We had a great time.

Just Hanging Out

Don't you just hate it when you get stuck in your summer pool floatie in the middle of the living room floor? Never fails.

I love this picture. I just think she's beautiful. Just a normal day. Hanging out at the house. Playing.

Oh, and trying on all the accessories we can get our hold little hands on. In case you can't tell, baby girl is trying to put an earring in her ear.

Carsyn and Granny

Granny got to come hang out with Carsyn a few days at the first of August. Our babysitter was taking a week vacation and it was the first of the month, so we had to call in some back up.
Granny went to Taco Tuesday at Rosa's with us. Carsyn wasn't really all that excited about holding hand in the parking lot, but she got over it when she saw her favorite red pick up truck. So friendly.

Carsyn really liked snuggling with Granny while reading her nite-nite story. Doesn't Granny look glamorous? She was trying on her outfit for the Mary Kay awards ceremony.
