Family Fun

We got to hang out with friends from church last night. There was swimming, eating, laughing and kid chasing!

15 month check up

Shots today. Boo! We have a 25 pounder. 80% doc suggested we get a little more red meat in him since he ate part of the bathroom faucet. You know. Normal 15 month check up conversation.

Pop Goes the 4th

Carsyn and Tony were in Oklahoma for the 4th of July. They joined Granny and PaPa T at the Lawton Country Club for burgers and fireworks. How adorable are they?!?!

Carsyn loved the fireworks. Ty and I stayed home because he had a 15 month doctors appointment and I had to work on Friday. Boo.

Tony sent me some Carsyn quotes. Enjoy.
"It's like they're on a playdate" when multiple ones went off at the same time.
"I think they're fighting"
"That one was like PaPa T's shotgun and a thunderstorm at the same time" Shotgun? really?
"That's what I'm talkin about!"
"They're lighting up the whole sky!"

Ty and I on the other hand chilled inside away from the mosquitos and listened to the fireworks.

VBS Week

I took a week vacation from work and went to VBS. I was great! I worked with 5th and 6th graders. They can get their own snacks and we don't have to remind them to use the potty.

I like that in a kid.
Emily and her two kidos came down and mom brought Misty's kids. We'd go to church in the morning and play all afternoon and night.

First it was the stockyards.

Midevil Times

TyTy LOVED the splash pad. He ran and ran and ran. When he wasn't running through the water he was trying to eat supper with a Mexican family. That's how we roll in Texas.

Swim Lessons

Carsyn is making fish faces to the fish.

Dallas Aquarium - Such sweet friends. Emily and I met in 7th grade art class. We've been friends for over 20 years and I'm thrilled our kids play well together! Thanks for hanging out Cayden and Quinn!

Target

We all had such a great time. I think this is the beginning of an annual tradition! All we need next year is Misty and Cooper.

Beautiful Golfer

Hanging out in Granny and PaPa T's backyard, getting in a little practice. I hope this is something Carsyn and Tony can enjoy for years and years.

Conversations about God

We have been traveling a lot back and forth to Oklahoma lately. It has given Carsyn and I lots of time to talk. One of the best conversations we've had was about Noah and the ark. I was explaining how Noah and his family were the only ones on Earth that loved God and followed His ways and because of that they were saved during the flood. Carsyn knew the bad people and mean people died and were separated from God, but she asked about the nice people. What happened to them? I explained that being nice is not enough to be friends with God forever. That even the nice people died. Then I presented to plan of salvation to her. She has a lot to think about and I am cherishing the questions and the honor it is to share Jesus with her.

Mini Vaca to Minneapolis

Tony had a conference in Minneapolis and Carsyn and I got to tag along! Baby girl was beyond excited to go on her first airplane ride. She was a rock star and breezed through security like a pro.

She was a very well mannered traveler and it was enjoyable to watch the experience through her eyes.

The first day we went to nickelodeon universe to see Dora. We were VERY excited about it.

Carsyn was adorably grateful. She was so obedient and constantly telling Tony thankful for bringing her and for taking her on all the rides.

The next day we went to the Children's Museum of Minnesota. There was some great hands on fun and best of all, one on one time with momma and daddy!

Carsyn got to dress up like an animal rescuer from Deigo and checked out baby jaguar.

Good news, he was OK.

We had the best time on our trip. Carsyn thrived in the special attention from us and Ty had his own special attention at Granny and PaPa T's house. I never thought I would suggest a family vacation with only one child, but it worked great for us and I can see potential in the future where it would be good too.

Two for Tea

Carsyn's school held a Mother's Day tea. Her teachers made us an amazing book recapping all the great events of the year with tons of pictures.

The kids performed several songs.

Carsyn was adorable and I really enjoyed the special time with her.

Tornado Drill

The kids and I were in Oklahoma while the new floors were being put in at home. Wed night there were lots of tornadoes around Lawton. The kids had a party in Granny and PaPa T's closet. Misty and I hung out for crowd control. You know those toddler parties get wild. Gage and Carsyn had Sonic slushes and Ty and Rylee had animal crackers.  Carsyn and Gage wanted cake. Who has a party without cake? Duly noted. They were clueless to the weather. Mission Accomplished.

Burn Notice

Ty! Seriously, you are wearing me out. While getting ready to head to Oklahoma for Rylee girls birthday party, Ty decides to cruise around the living room and touch the glass in front of the fireplace. The fire was on. It was hot and he got a second degree burn. Mommy fail!

Poor baby was so sad. I know it has to hurt and his letting me know about it.  The ER doc gave us a script for Tylenol with codeine and I'm not afraid to use it. I finally gave it to him with honey. Which is another no no before your first birthday. Mommy fail #2. I'm one a roll.
Now we get to spend the next several weeks cleaning it and changing bandages until it's all healed up.

Family Dinner

We've been having dinner, in the dinning room, at the table. I know. What a concept.

It is sweet to hear Carsyn and Ty interact.

We are able to leave the high chair in the kitchen and Ty sits in the special table seat ( I don't know what it's call). I gave him cucumbers and whole grain noodles. He kept looking at my plate and saying, Momma. Mommmmma. MommaMommaMomma. I get it. The kid wants meat. So I fed him meat sauce. At 10 months. Way ahead of what I fed Carsyn. Of course he cut his 3rd molar this weekend. He is up to 11 teeth. That clearly that has a lot to do with it
